I’m a book gigolo. Yes that’s right I buy books continually even though I haven’t finished the ones I already have at home. Anyhow I went to the bookstore looking for a book on managing language programs for an essay i am writing but could not find anything appropriate or useful. However I did buy to books:
- Teaching and Researching Autonomy in Language Learning by Phil Benson
- The Language Instinct : How the Mind Creates Language by Steven Pinker
The Steven Pinker book will be my subway/bus read as soon as I finish reading The Aquariums of Pyongyang: Ten Years in the North Korean Gulag Which I just started reading. You may recall I wrote about this a few weeks ago.
Back to studying.. enjoy your weekend - I know I won’t! Must read read read and then start planning the next essay.

My mom insisted in high school that I was addicted to books. Of course, my habit was a lot less expensive back then, due to the awesome public library so close to my house. Now, I have to restrain myself from buying whatever interesting books I see, as I got used to hoarding them for those times when I lived abroad and had little access to English books. Mmmmm, books. I love books. Have fun with the Pinker! I’m currently reading McWhorter’s The Power of Babel, which is equally entertaining.
