I’m changing hosts. I will post a link to my new host, once everything clears (re: credit card etc) and I sign up with the affiliates program.
Good bye POWWEB.
update
My new host is Site5.com and so far so good. I won’t actually be migrating Blinger or Let’s Learn Korean until I finish graduate school on June 10th. However I can get a couple of other things set up when I find some free time.

While I still think POWWEB is an okay host, they are not the right host for me. The three months of trouble while changing to load balanced servers was a pain in the ass, with little response from support and that got me started thinking.
They have “upgraded” the package to 5gb storage and 300 gb of tranfer/month, but I’ll never need all the transfer. Additionally, they have limited the number of pointer domains to 5 and you don’t get email with those. The only email you get is with your primary domain. Since I currently own 7 domains and have plans to purchase 2 more, this is not an acceptable situation.
My new host offers 3gb of storage, 50 gb of tranfer which is more than I need. The maximum transfer I have done in three years on the internet is 8gb. I get 5 pointers with full email support. And they have 3 different plans so if I need to upgrade to a plan with more domains or transfer I can. Additionally there is a resellers program, which I am considering getting involved it, but I am not too sure how many customers I would be able to generate. That’s on hold until I can further determine how much time I would need to invest into support and building a large enough customer base to break even.
The final reasons is that I have had some buggy issues in Expression Engine and in Moodle that other users do not seem to replicate on thier hosts. I am hoping that these issues disappear when I switch.

Thanks for the explanation. I have multiple domains as well, and that e-mail things bothers me, but not enough to change hosts.
I wish you a smooth, painless transition.
Oh and one more thing, the account includes a dedicated IP. This will resolve the issue of my site not being viewable in China. I have friends living in China who cannot read my blog because of government of China censored powweb ip’s. No doubt because of one site that once said something they didn’t like.

Good luck with the upcoming transition! I love your blog. Will the site design remain the same after you change providers?
Delaido,
Actually this site is going to have a couple of big changes over the summer, so it may look different than now. The content and focus will continue to be the same though. Thanks for the praise and I am happy to hear you enjoy my site.

I concur. While PowWeb is a good host for the average person, hosting multiple domains here is asking for a pain in the pockets in the long run.
Take for example somebody I know that had about 15 packages here, he recently moved to a dedicated server that pays the same he was paying for here a month (in total) and has more bandwidth and such.
Wise choice, and I hope you enjoy it and may all your projects turn out good
Thanks for the encouragement Samuel as well as your help on the POWWEB forums.

Robbie Port (I originally set up his MT site in spring 2004 on powweb) reports on the terrible experience he has had with powweb. Read all about it here.
