Round-up

I’ve never done a round up before, but I’m behind on blog reading and there are so many interesting things going on that I thought now’s the time for the first ESL blog round up - perhaps next time I’ll do one more linguistically oriented.

Stella writes about teaching grammar where she writes Sometimes I really don’t understand why theoretical concepts in SLA can never be clear stated : this is how language is learned! ..or this is what teachers should adopt in your classroom - clearly she is on the same wavelength as me.

Gord writes about having his teaching evaluated. Gord reflects on his teaching and the benefits of evaluation for both himself and his students. A very interesting post that I think any teacher should read and perhaps give feedback to Gord about your own experiences.

David writes about a good article  with some good comments - (article here)

And finally Kevin Ryan has set up a new group blog called JapanLang which “will focus more on language teaching, but will be peppered with other interesting stuff as well.” There is already a few posts and one on Krashen that readers may be interested in.

Thanks for the plug for japanlang.com. Unoftunately, we are in the setup stages, and are most likely going to switch away from WordPress Blogging software and will use PHPBB instead. Try us midweek next week at http://www.japanlang.com/blog/ instead of the address above.
