Why I’ve quit

Since I wrote my post about closing the blog I’ve recieved a number of emails asking why and wishing me well. Thankyou for your emails and comments.

My primary reason for quitting is that I am no longer enjoying blogging in the same way that I used to. It’s not just the writing of entries but even reading other blogs no longer interests me at the same level.  Additionally I find that I no longer have very much to say and what I have written recently, in my opinion, is fluff. It’s there just so that there is a recent entry.

For me to blog I feel that I should be able to write quality material at a regular pace and at this point I don’t feel that I am able to do that. These are the primary reasons. Secondary reasons are that I have decided I spend far too much time in front of the computer and need to step back and reprioritize a number of things in my life. I need to lose about 10kg, spend more time with my children, and work on my Korean language skills.

I have paid for this domain through April of next year and may be re-inspired to continue before then. However at this point I do not see myself blogging as EFLgeek anytime before the new year.
