I was wondering if 5,000 per beer was worth conversing in Korean with a beautiful girl? Ugh. I really can’t understand it. My friend’s got a problem with going into those places, and we always drop more than a dime in there.

After reading this article in the 조선일보 about the newly coined Korean words 된장女 and 고추장男, I was inspired to write a song based on the Korean version of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.”

Maybe someone has already posted this on here before, but I just realized that the KBS website has their news broadcasts on their website available for streaming download, and best of all, they have all the transcripts right next to the video feed - great for listening practice! You have to register on the site, but they allow foreigners, so no big deal. Here is the address: http://www.kbs.co.kr They also have some limited VOD service for other KBS programs, but without the subtitling.

Anyhow I just added a built in audio player to this blog and this is the first audio post. I spoke in English at the beginning and did a short reading from a text book in the middle.
Let me know if you are interested or not - as a potential listener or an audio blogger. I set up a poll as well and you can leave a comment.

I’ve been working on putting more time into Korean but away from the computer. I’ve been reading on the subway everyday. But knew there was more I could do.
I have had my wife record the stories in the book linked above and am now listening to them on my new MP3 player. And there’s the new listening book I picked up as well. Other suggestions and ideas are there and yours are welcome as well.
